Isa Gasimov / Head of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” Portal
Born on 15 November 1975 in Gabala, Republic of Azerbaijan.
Education and Academic Activities
From 1993 to 1997, he studied Economic and Social Geography at Baku State University and obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
From 1997 to 1999, he pursued a Master’s degree in Economic and Social Geography at Baku State University.
From 1999 to 2002, he pursued doctoral studies in Economic and Social Geography at the Institute of Geography named after Hasan Aliyev of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
In 2005, he was awarded a PhD in Geography.
In 2014, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in Economic Geography.
Since 2013, he has been working on a doctoral dissertation in the field of “Economics of Technological Innovations” on the topic “Development of mechanisms for stimulating innovations and establishing technoparks for the development of regional entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan” at the Department of Sustainable Development Problems of the Institute for Scientific Research on Economic Reforms of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 2012, he completed the “Higher Education and Future Career Program” in the United States.
In 2016, he participated in the “Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Business Incubators” program in India.
In 2017, he completed the “Transition to Silicon Valley” program in the United States.
In 2018, he participated in the “High-Level Science, Technology, Innovation Policy and Strategic Development” program in the Republic of Korea.
In 2020, he completed the “From Idea to Business: Innovation and Acceleration – IX Program” at the Stanford University Center for Professional Development.
In 2024, he participated in the “Training of Trainers for Technology Startups” program in the Republic of Korea.
He is a co-author of the textbooks “Innovation Entrepreneurship and Technoparks” and “Innovation Entrepreneurship: Startup Ecosystem,” as well as the author of five course curricula and nearly 60 scientific publications.
Professional Experience
From 2005 to 2013, he worked at the Guba Branch of the Azerbaijan Teachers’ Institute (currently Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University), serving as Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Head of Department, Deputy Director, and Acting Director.
From 2006 to 2017, he worked as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education of Qafqaz University.
From 2006 to 2010, he served as Head of the Public Relations Department at Qafqaz University.
From 2010 to 2013, he served as Head of the Career Planning and Internship Center at Qafqaz University.
From 2013 to 2017, he served as Director of the Technopark at Qafqaz University.
Since February 2017, he has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering at Baku Engineering University.
From 2017 to 2019, he served as Director of the Technopark at Baku Engineering University.
In 2019, he worked as a Senior Specialist at the Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
From 2019 to 2023, he served as Director of the Center for Additional Education “Innovative Technologies in Education.”
From 2023 to 2025, he served as Director of the Technopark at Baku Engineering University.
Since February 2025, he has been serving as the Head of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” Portal at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
He speaks Azerbaijani and English.
He is married and has two children.
